Dr Malo is a Professor in the Department of Administration and Human Resources Education at HEC Montreal.

She teaches administrative processes, strategic management, organization and management specific to cooperatives and social economy associations at the Management Education Service. From 1984 to 1988, she was director of the Center for the Management of Cooperatives and of the CIRIEC-Canada review. Since 2000, she has headed the HEC branch of CRISES (Research Center on Social Innovations in the Social Economy, Businesses and Trade Unions).

Marie-Claire  holds a BA in  applied economics (1973), a MBA (1976),  and a PhD in developmental social sciences (1980). In 1976, as part of her doctoral studies, she enrolled at the École des Hautes Studies in Social Sciences in Paris, where she specialized in the field of cooperatives and consumption. Two years later, she spent a year  at UCLA in California in order to deepen her knowledge in management.
