Michael Wunsch

Biography

Michael Wunsch has over 15 years of experience in the practical implementation of social transformation processes. As former head of the Social Impact Lab Frankfurt and co-founder of the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany (SEND), he has played a decisive role in shaping the German social entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has acquired and realized several million euros in project funding from funders and sponsors such as KfW foundation, Samsung, Google.org, BMW Foundation, SAP, Aqtivator Foundation, and Crespo Foundation. Furthermore, he was responsible for implementing amongst other things the German Social Enterprise Monitor, Buy Social Germany, and the Sozialinnovator Hessen. Michael is co-author of the non-fiction book ‘Soziale Innovationen – Lösungen, wie wir sie heute wirklich brauchen’, which was published by oekom-Verlag in 2023. As a public speaker, he regularly speaks on topics such as social innovation, social impact, social entrepreneurship education, and social startup incubation. Michael is currently a doctoral researcher with Prof. Dr. Eva Jakob at the University of Bayreuth and Prof. Dr. Yasmin Olteanu at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. There, he is working on the topic of social impact management and systemic change. Simultaneously, Michael is co-founder of the recently established association Initiative Impact Management (InWi) that is supporting and lobbying for professionals working with social impact.
