Mario Calderini, PhD in Economics at the University of Manchester, is Full Professor at the Politecnico di Milano, School of Management, where he teaches Business Strategy and Social Innovation; he also directs the Alta Scuola Politecnica, the high specialization school promoted by the Milan and Turin Polytechnics.

He is the Advisor to the Minister of Education, University and Research for research and innovation policies and is the Government’s Sherpa for the Italian Presidency of the G7. He is author of books and publications in international scientific journals in the field of Economics and Innovation management. Dr Calderini is the Director of Tiresia, the research center of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano on the subject of Innovation and Finance for Social Impact. He represented the Italian Government in the G8 Task Force on Social Impact Investments and coordinated the Italian Advisory Board on Social Impact Finance. He set up the Social Impact Finance and Social Innovation policies for the Italian government, promoting the first public consultation of the sector. Currently, he is a member of the Task Force created by the Presidency of the Council on social impact finance.
