Biography

Julianna Kiss is a Research Fellow with the Institute of Business Economics at the Corvinus University of Budapest and a member of the Management Committee for the COST Action “Empowering the next generation of social enterprise scholars.” Prior to her research work at Corvinus University, she was an Assistant Research Fellow at the University of Miskolc’s Institute of World and Regional Economics within the Faculty of Work and Social Economy. Julianna has also previously held research roles at various foundations, including the European Roma Rights Centre.

Her research focuses on social enterprise, the social and solidarity economy and civil society, including such research projects as “Social Enterprises in Social and Health Services,” “Update of the Mapping of Social Enterprises and their Ecosystems in Europe,” “Aspects on the development of intelligent, sustainable and inclusive society: social, technological, innovation networks in employment and digital economy,” “International Comparative Social Enterprise Models (ICSEM)” and the “Solidarity and social economy of post-socialist peripheries.”

Julianna holds a PhD in Social Policy from Eötvös Loránd Science University, an English Language Teacher MA from Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church, a MA in Sociology from the Science University of Pécs, an English Language and Literature MA from Eötvös Loránd Science University and a BA in Social Studies from Corvinus University of Budapest.
