Dr. Jarrod Ormiston is a Senior Lecturer in the TD School of Transdisciplinary Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney.

Jarrod’s teaching activities focus on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and sustainability. His research focuses on working with social enterprises and impact investors to enhance their impact, supporting refugee and migrant entrepreneurs, educating entrepreneurs from marginalised backgrounds, and understanding the role of emotions in entrepreneurship.

He previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Social Entrepreneurship in the Department of Organisation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship (OSE) at Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics. Prior to his work at Maastricht University, Jarrod worked as a lecturer at the University of Sydney, as an analyst in Growth Solutions at Deloitte and in various management roles in the Australian and Latin American nonprofit and education sectors. He has also worked as a consultant on entrepreneurship and education to the Australian Government, the OECD, and the United Nations.

Jarrod’s PhD, which he obtained from the University of Sydney, explored the role of impact measurement as a transdisciplinary practice in the fields of social entrepreneurship and impact investment.
