Biography
Dr. Isobel Cunningham is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and has been teaching at ATU since 2015. Previously, Isobel taught at Dublin City University, Ulster University and University of Derby. She completed a BA Hons. and MSc in International Business at Ulster University. Isobel completed her Ph.D. in 2013 again at Ulster University. Her Ph.D. title is “Evolution and Formation of Entrepreneurial Founding Teams in the Video Games Industry.”
She is particularly interested in social and inclusive entrepreneurship, female and creative entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship education. Her research interest spans these areas along with a keen research interest in the area of dynamic capabilities, entrepreneurial ecosystems, the formation and evolution of start-ups and student entrepreneurship.
Isobel is currently active in a number of Shared Island projects (over €4m) in the area of female entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and innovation as well as Erasmus+ projects in the areas of student entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Isobel collaborates with many national businesses in development and innovation processes. Isobel is involved in many research groups in the area of Social Entrepreneurship. Isobel is actively involved in many cross-border research projects in conjunction with Ulster University.
