Helena Gata is currently doing a Ph.D. in Economic Sociology at ISEG – School of Economics & Management Lisbon University focused on Working Poor research.
She works for the 3rd Sector since 1997 and accumulates abroad working experience in 5 countries (France, Holland, England, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau).
In the last 16 years, as Executive director, she was responsible for business development at the organizations she cooperated with. Currently she is a Strategic Management Consultant, president of ESLIDER – National Network of Social Entrepreneurs and Leaders of Civil Society and member of the board of EUCLID Network.
As a Social Entrepreneur, she has created and implemented various social projects in Portugal and African Portuguese speaking countries. She participated and coordinated three national studies.
Helena holds a Sociology degree from Porto University; she has a master in International Cooperation and Development from the School of Economics and Management ISEG/UTL and finished the Social Entrepreneurship Course (ISEP) from INSEAD in Singapore.
