Dr Lorenzo is a Lecturer at Auckland University of Technology.
Diana’s research critically examines social value creation and the ethical nature of social entrepreneurship within the context of development. Diana is also interested in socially sensitive qualitative research methodologies that involve researching vulnerable people.
Before her work in the academe, Diana was an entrepreneur and business development professional for over two decades. She was involved in identifying market opportunities, defining market strategies, building international brands in local markets, and developing retail and distribution channels. After what then seemed to be an endless pursuit of sales growth and profit, she found herself in search of more meaningful and sustainable ways of doing business. Her extensive experience in business and entrepreneurship eventually sparked her interest in research on what makes social entrepreneurship ‘social’.
