Biography
Brian Bergmann is an Assistant Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Haslam College of Business. His research focuses on how entrepreneurs and communities organize to address complex societal challenges such as poverty and climate change, with work published in leading academic journals including the Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Business Venturing.
Bergmann holds a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship from Indiana University, a Master in International Development from University of Pittsburgh, and a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy and foreign affairs from Miami University. His professional background includes international development work with organizations in Switzerland, Kenya, Guatemala, and Ecuador, where he contributed to public health policy, social venture creation, and impact measurement initiatives.
