Dr. Cigdem Asarkaya is currently an Assist. Prof. at Istanbul Commerce University- Department of Business Administration. After graduating from METU (Ankara) and Otto-von-Guericke (Magdeburg) universities, she worked at the reporting departments of two banks for 5 years. Then she returned back to academia, and completed her PhD at Bogazici University. During that period, she was a teaching assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University- MBA Programs. Her PhD thesis was about psychological empowerment, and her areas of interest are organizational behavior, social entrepreneurship, and cultural studies.
