Arthur Gautier is Assistant Professor at ESSEC Business School and Executive Director of the ESSEC Philanthropy Chair. He teaches at the Grande Ecole and ESSEC Executive Education. Since 2016, he has been Educational Manager of the French Certificate of Fundraising.
A graduate of the Angers Graduate School of Business Science (2005), he holds a Doctorate in Management Science from the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts in Paris (2009).
His research focuses mainly on philanthropy and private initiatives in favor of the general interest, using organizational, sociological, psychological and historical perspectives. He studies the emergence and institutionalization of philanthropy and corporate sponsorship, from a conceptual and practical point of view.
He is also interested in hybrid philanthropic practices combining several logics such as impact investing, crowdfunding and shareholder foundations.
