Part of Brookings’ Foresight Africa 2025-2030 report, this chapter argues entrepreneurship is central to realising Africa’s demographic dividend, highlighting initiatives such as the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s Women Entrepreneurship for Africa (WE4A) programme, while flagging persistent barriers for youth and women entrepreneurs including limited access to finance, digital infrastructure gaps, and weak market networks, especially in rural areas.
