This report builds upon the two previous editions, adding new perspectives on the impact of social enterprises across the Spanish ecosystem. The European Social Enterprise Monitor remains a leading research project in Europe, gathering data directly from social enterprises across the continent and providing detailed insights into the challenges, needs, and aspirations of the entrepreneurs driving the transition toward an economy that prioritises people and the planet.

In recent years, social enterprises have gained a more prominent role in the economy due to their ability to drive social and environmental transformation through business management practices. The social and environmental challenges we face today demand innovative and sustainable long-term solutions that can offer alternatives to the traditional economy. In this sense, social enterprises have proven to be a valuable alternative, both because of the innovative nature of their business and management models and because of the social and environmental impact they are capable of generating and sustaining over time.
