Social enterprises have existed in Hungary since the end of the 90s, and their number and diversity are increasing. They respond to a variety of social and environmental problems, follow a variety of business models, and exist in a variety of legal forms. Over the past 20 years, several professional and business organizations have provided significant support for the development of social enterprises, recognizing their potential to solve serious problems such as extreme poverty or segregation.

The Monitor is a quantitative research based on an online questionnaire, which the participants fill out voluntarily and anonymously. The survey took place in Hungary from the beginning of September 2021 to the end of January 2022, and 52 respondents filled out the questionnaire in Hungarian. Of these, after data cleaning, 47 evaluable answers formed the basis of the analyses.
